PF POTVIN

P.F. Potvin is a not a household appliance.

He is a Michigan-born writer, musician, and ultramarathon runner whose writing has appeared in Boston Review, Born Magazine, MiPOesias, Passages North, Slope, 5 A.M., Sentence, the Detroit Metro Times, and elsewhere.

He holds an MFA from Bennington Writing Seminars, where he received the Jane Kenyon Poetry Scholarship. He has since taught in Chile and the U.S.A and has received scholarships from the Vermont Studio Center and the Catskill Poetry Conference.

He is the author of The Attention Lesson published by No Tell Books, 2006. He is also on the staff of the literary journal Drunken Boat. He has been a visiting writer at the University of Michigan, Dearborn and recently read at Emory University. Much of his work has been inspired by American road trips, living in Chile, European jaunts, hitching throughout Patagonia, and hut wardening in New Zealand's Siberia Valley.

Potvin's running highlights include 1st place finishes in the Croom Trail 50km, Croom Trail 50 mile, John Holmes 50km, McNaughton Park 50 mile, Superior Trail 50km, Dances with Dirt 50 km, Jay Peak Marathon, Michigan Trail Marathon, and the X-Country Marathon.
